Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 3-14-24, Psalms 89:14- "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You." As fallen, sinful, humans, we tend to think that every thought, every imaginable thing, any good, comes directly from us. Arrogantly, we claim that all progress, all that is good in society and culture, originates in us. We give little thought to where we came from, especially since we have been conditioned to believe the lies of Satan called evolution. We are told we come from nothing and therefore are of no intrinsic value; the truth is entirely opposite. God says we are highly valued, only slightly lower than Himself in authority and power. Instead of congratulating ourselves on our advanced culture, we must look to God who is the true source! He is righteousness and justice; He is the source of lovingkindness and truth. James 1: 17-18- "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures." In the beginning, He brought us forth from nothing. He brought us forth from the verdict of death to the gift of life through Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the source and He is the one to whom all honor is to be given. His gift of life out of death is the "perfect gift from above." In Him, there are no shadows or deception, only light, truth, honor, and perfect love. Righteousness and justice are His characteristics. If we wish to see and experience them, we must know God. We must be His people. Then, we will live in His lovingkindness and truth. We will see His glory, giving Him all honor and praise!
