Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 3-2-24, Jeremiah 17:10- "I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds." This is an interesting precept. God will search your heart. God will test what is in your mind. God does know your ways and He will give to you what results from your own actions and deeds. There is no part of life that is hidden from God. Verse 9 says, "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?" God can and does know and understand and give according to what He finds when He searches. Satan deceives people into thinking "no one will see or know." But God does know. Our sinfulness is openly apparent to God. What is the solution to this problem? God knows us, and God has given us the means of reversal. God, in His great love, has provided the way. Jesus said, "I am the way ..." He said, "I am the light." He said, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, will live even if he dies." Jesus is the solution to our heart, mind and action problems. It is only through Him that we may be saved from sin. It is only through Him that we may be transformed from death to life. Life is God's idea; death is Satan's idea. Salvation is God's idea; damnation is Satan's idea. Salvation is a decision, a turning from death to life. Death and hell are the default results if there is no salvation. This is the truth. Jesus is the truth. Through Him our hearts, minds and actions are healed and restored to relationship with God. Romans 12:1-2- "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
