Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 12-5-23- Matthew 6:28 Amplified, "And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spiin." Jesus admonished us, corrected us, chastised us, for worrying about anything. Worry demonstrates a lack of faith. Jesus said we are to observe the natural world and gain faith- look at the birds (verse 26), look at the lilies (verse 28), and look at the grass (verse 30.) It is not like we do nothing; we do things, but worry is not to be among those things. Verse 33 says, "But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides." God's order is set. Seek Him above all else; seek Him as the priority. Seek Him first, then everything else will tumble into place. None of this is remotely possible unless you have a rigorous, daily, plan for Bible reading and study. None of it is possible unless God is placed first in your day. None of it is possible unless His word, time with Him, study of Him, supercedes rest and food and entertainment and any other source of information. God must supercede everything. Seek Him, strive after His ways, and incorporate His kingdom ways and righteousness into every corner of your life. As you do this, your faith grows and worry shrinks. As you do this, righteousness becomes a way of life; God's kingdom becomes visible and directs your decisions. You will be known as God's person reflecting Him.
