Devotion 2-12-24, Genesis 6:8 - "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." Our generation is exceedingly wicked, as was the generation of Noah. We find that God was very grieved. God determined to eliminate every wicked person. But, Genesis 6:8, "Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." He did what was right, rather than what was wrong in God's eyes. Noah lived in an evil, idolatrous, pagan, society. But Noah chose God's way. He went against the grain. He stood against the tide of evil. He trusted God when only those in his family followed his example. Each one of us is answerable to God, who is always watching. Each one of us is accountable for our lives, our thoughts, and our actions. The struggle was between God and Satan, and at that time, Satan appeared to have control. It was an appearance, not a reality. God did and does ultimately have the last say. But where will you be? On whom will you depend? To Noah, the world was bleak and godless; but he chose to persevere for God. Many chose God- Moses, David, Isaiah, John, Peter, Paul to name a few. They chose God's way. Exodus 14:13 a- "But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today;..." 1 Corinthians 16:13 - 14 - "Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." 1 Peter 5:8 - 9 a- "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith,..." Look at your life. Do you honor God or bring shame on His name? Do you find favor in God's eyes or do you a grieve Him? Each one must choose. Each one must choose to obey; each one must depend on, lean on, and follow Jesus Christ, our Savior and King.
