Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 2-2-24, Psalm 18:30- "As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him." Whom do you trust? In whom do you hide? You may choose; but, your choice dictates everything else in your life. If you choose anything lower than the God of all Creation, you are in serious danger. All lesser things are unreliable, unsteady, and usually deceptive in one way or another. If you consciously, intentionally, choose God, your experience will be different. Choosing God does not change life. Life is lived in this fallen, sin-darkened world. But, life may also be lived under the shield and watchfulness of God. God loves you! He watches over you. He provides strength. He provides salvation. He provides a safe place to hide for a while and recover from the battering that life hands out. God does not remove you from the mess. But, He is right in it with you. He does not make the mess; but, He shields you from more than you can handle. That may not seem true at times. At times, we feel like we will drown in this life's messes. But, we do not drown. We hold on, with white knuckles at times; but we do not drown. To whom do you turn? Whom do you trust? God says in Isaiah 41:13- "For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’" Choose God, trust God, lean on God, know God intimately, and experience His love and protection for you!
