Devotion 1-5-24. Psalm 89:15- "How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O Lord , they walk in the light of Your countenance." People of the Lord may walk in the light of God's presence. People of the Lord may hear the joyful sound of God, as He is honored and praised. Those who are not people of the Lord, have absolutely no understanding of how this process works. But, they are not alone. Many Christians, those who claim a relationship with God, in Jesus, by faith, do not hear or see either. This is a sad fact of life and why would it be true? Acknowledging there is a God, and acknowledging Jesus is God's Son, is not sufficient for an intimate relationship with Him. A head nod of recognition is only an acquaintance level relationship. We have many of those; but, that must never be the case with God. How we arrogantly recognize God as there, but not important in our moment-by-moment lives, is actually thumbing our noses at God. We say, by such action, "I see You, I acknowledge You, but I don't care for You in the slightest." We say, "Leave me alone, I don't want You deeply involved in my life. I just want to claim to be a Christian, because it makes me look good to people. But, don't bother me with relationship demands or details. I am not interested in that." How grieved is God when His own creation rejects Him. How much more grieved He is when His own creation pretends to care. Where do you stand? Are you a pretender; or, are you actively seeking to walk with God, in His Light, with His Son, Jesus, expecting to hear the joyful sound of His voice, speaking love into your heart? God loves you! Do you love Him? Is He your highest priority? Does His word feed your soul? Do His words energize you to live out a genuine, in love with God, Christian life? I pray this is so! Psalms 89:1 ,52- "I will sing of the lovingkindness of the Lord forever; To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth...Blessed be the Lord forever! Amen and Amen!"
