Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 12-22-23 Matthew 10:34 , “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." Many people move through life, doing what they do, "living" on a personal level that does not include any intimate relationship with God. Until Jesus cuts through the facade of peace, they do not realize or acknowledge their real, deep seated need for a Savior. They have bought a system of life that is at a wrong level. They have accepted only a surface peace, rather than the deep peace that only comes from God. Jesus did not mince words. He did not play around, trying not to offend. He stated spiritual facts that expressed His deep love and commitment to all mankind. His life, death, and resurrection would cut through all religions and point to Him as the one and only way. "I am the way, the truth, and the life of; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6) There is no way but to allow the sword of truth, Jesus, to cut through to the center of your life, eliminating all false loves, all false hopes, and all false salvation. Jesus is the one way; there is no other way. Truth must remove all false peace so that only the Prince of Peace, Jesus, remains. He must be the one, and only one, controlling factor. No other form of peace may be considered. John 15:11, " These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full."
