Devotion 12-19-23 Psalm 138:6 AMP- "For though the Lord is high, yet has He respect to the lowly [bringing them into fellowship with Him]; but the proud and haughty He knows and recognizes [only] at a distance." Psalm 138:3 says, " In the day when I called, You answered me; and You strengthened me with strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self." Why does God answer? God answers because - "though He is exalted yet He regards the lowly..." God teaches us to approach Him. We are to call out to Him. We are to acknowledge our weakness and His boundless strength. We are to exalt God as Creator and Redeemer. We are to come to Him as God of the universe, yet lover of each one's soul. There is no room for arrogance or braggadocious thoughts of our own accomplishments. We come to God, knowing He is our source. We come telling everyone that He loves us, forgives us, and prepares us for useful life in His kingdom here on earth. Verses 8, " The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever–forsake not the works of Your own hands." Pray for God's clear guidance that then wait for it. Pray for God's lovingkindness and then open your eyes to see it. Pray that you, the work of His hands, will bring God pleasure. Pray that your life, how you live, will be a witness to the world. Do not allow negativity to gain any foothold at all. You are God's, and He is yours! Hallelujah
