Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 12-8-23- Psalm 117:1 - 2 Amplified "O PRAISE the Lord, all you nations! Praise Him, all you people! For His mercy and loving-kindness are great toward us, and the truth and faithfulness of the Lord endure forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)" This is the complete psalm, 2 verses. It is the shortest psalm. But, this short, 2 verse, psalm is an essential commandment. It says what we are to do and why! We, all who live and breathe on this earth, are to praise God. Not just one nation, the Jews, but all nations, all peoples, are to praise the Lord. Not just some, but all are to praise His name, being thankful for Him. God is merciful and He is loving to all creation. But He is even more so to people, made in His image, filled with His breath, and given the power and authority to honor and praise their creator! God is not a man that he would lie or sin. God is not a man that He would remove Himself forever. No! God is merciful. God is forever loving. God is forever truthful. God is forever kind and forgiving of those who come to Him in repentance and praise. God is to be praised above all else. He is worthy! He is everlasting! We are commanded to praise God; but, it is not a burden. It is a privilege. Our God, Creator, Redeemer, Lover, and Friend, is to be praised forever- from everlasting to everlasting!
