Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 1-20-24, Psalm 33:22 AMP- "Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You." Psalm 33 is a celebration of God as Creator, as a Sustainer, and is One worthy of our praise. It is not possible to know all of God's attributes; but we may meditate and celebrate those we do recognize at this time. Verse 1 exhorts us, "Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones; praise is becoming to the upright." Rejoice in the Lord, because you know that all righteousness, all right standing with God, comes from Him, not you. God is the source; He is the creator. He speaks, and it is! Verse 9, "For He spoke and it was done; He commanded and it stood fast." God "loves righteousness and justice" (verse 5); but he will nullify and cancel plans opposed to Him (verse 11). God sees "all the sons of men" (verse 13). He sees those who choose to walk in reverential fear and awe. His eye is on those who hope, waiting for His help, trusting in His intervention, in all aspects of life. "Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O LORD, be upon us in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You." God is our source. God is our hope. It is often foolishness to hope and trust in people; but it is always foolishness not to trust and hope in God. Verses 20-21, "Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield. For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name."
