Devotion's by Deborah

Devotion 12-14-23 Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand. Proverbs 19:21. We make all sorts of plans; every day has its plans. We schedule appointments in our calendar. We plan to do it, whatever "it" is. We intend to complete our plan. People depend on us to do what we say we will do, because, we made a plan and we are responsible people! We often plan ahead, even days or weeks ahead, so that everything in life is slotted into an appropriate date and time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with all those plans, as long as you are willing for them to change at a moment's notice. God may have different "plans" for you. He may need you somewhere else, doing something else. Most often, we do not factor God into our planning at all. We just do what is logical and convenient. If we are Gods person, however, God may upset everything. When you begin to actually seek God's plans, pray about God's plans and obey God's plan, you see life in a different light. God will use anyone who has made themselves available to Him. This makes life far from predictable, but it is exciting. Each day, begin by giving God your minutes and hours. Give Him your time to use as He wishes. Watch, and be used. Watch and be God's hands and feet. God will occasionally let you in on His plans, but more often, He will not. This can be disconcerting to obsessive planners; but, just do it, just make Him in charge, not you. Life is far more interesting and you are in sync with the God of creation; what a place to be!
